Screen time without daily battles

Earned credits teach kids that fun follows effort — reading, chores, and learning apps pay for play time.

The problem

Kids expect unlimited YouTube and games. Parents feel like the bad guy. Generic blockers cause meltdowns without building habits.

The solution

A transparent credit wallet kids can see. Learning adds credits; entertainment spends them. Chores on the Quest Board make earning fair.

Everything parents need

Six tools that work together — stored locally on your phone.

App ratings

Rate each installed app as educational (+) or entertainment (–). Credits grow with learning and shrink with play.

Credit wallet

A live balance shows how much screen time your child has earned. Learning apps add credits; entertainment uses them.

Quest Board

Set chores and tasks that pay out credits when completed. Kids learn that screen time is earned, not unlimited.

Kids Play Zone

A color-coded zone shows kids their balance at a glance — green means go, red means time to earn more.

Auto-lock at zero

When credits hit zero, entertainment apps lock automatically until more are earned through learning or chores.

Parent PIN

Every setting is protected by a parent PIN stored only on your device. Kids can't change the rules.

How it works

  1. 1

    Install & set your PIN

Download Screentime Nanny, grant the required Android permissions, and create a parent PIN. Everything stays on your phone.

  2. 2

    Rate apps & set chores

Mark apps as educational or entertainment. Add chores to the Quest Board with credit rewards your child can earn.

  3. 3

    Kids earn credits

Learning apps and completed quests add credits to the wallet. Kids see their balance in the Play Zone.

  4. 4

    Entertainment uses credits

When kids open entertainment apps, credits tick down. At zero, those apps lock until more credits are earned.

Why earned screen time works

When kids can see their balance and choose how to spend it, they practice decision-making instead of fighting arbitrary rules. Screentime Nanny is a parenting tool — not surveillance.
